Our mission at JYBSA is to provide a safe, enjoyable and rewarding opportunity for boys and girls ages 5 to 15 to participate in the great sports of T-ball, baseball, and softball. All registered players are placed on teams and no players are cut. Our hope is that players develop fundamental athletic skills, but our focus is that all players develop good sportsmanship, discipline, dedication, and teamwork, which will help them become honorable and contributing members of our community for the rest of their lives. The pursuits of individual athletic achievements and winning games are always secondary to our primary objective of developing ethical citizens. We hope the athletic skills our players develop will allow some of them to earn spots on our high school teams (and maybe even beyond), but we know the lessons they learn about teamwork, good sportsmanship and respect, both in victory and in defeat, are the things they will take with them throughout their lives.
JYBSA has implemented the following Sport Parent Code of Conduct because of the important message it holds about the proper role of parents in supporting their child in sports.
All parents who register a child to participate on any team or in any program operated by JYBSA must abide by this Code of Conduct at all times. All parents are required to read and understand this form prior to registering a child to participate in our programs, and all guest visitors to our park are required to honor it as well.
Any adult guilty of improper conduct at any game or practice will be asked to leave our facility and be suspended from the following game. Repeat and/or severe violations may cause a multiple game suspension and/or the forfeiture of the privilege of attending all games for so long as JYBSA deems appropriate.
The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: (1) Trustworthiness, (2) Respect, (3) Responsibility, (4) Fairness, (5) Caring, and (6) Good Citizenship.
The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these “six pillars of character.”
We are always striving to improve JYBSA. To do that, we always seek feedback from parents, players, coaches, volunteers, visitors, and anyone else interested in helping us do better. To contact any board member, please visit our Board of Directors page. Or, if you have a question, comment, suggestion, or observation, please feel free to leave it for us below.
Thanks for your support of JYBSA!
