Team Website Management

At JYBSA, our website is a powerful communication platform for coaches and parents. Here is the information everyone needs to get the most out of it!

Our website has been developed with the help of our website vendor, Sport NGIN.  Because Sport NGIN provides websites to countless organizations across the country,  it has developed an extensive library of tips, tricks, and "how to's" at its help center.  To visit the help center, just click here.  To get help on specific features of our website from Sport NGIN's perspective, click on the links to the right.  Or, for a simple tutorial on the most basic features of our website, see below.
 
​Getting Started -- all users (parents and coaches)

 

As an initial matter, remember that before you can edit your page, you need to (1) register as a user of the website and (2) email Duffy Dillon and request permission to modify the team page.  If you are not a team manager, please note that the team manager will have to confirm that you are permitted to modify the page before permission will be granted.  

Once you have registered and been given access, remember these tips.  

First, please watch this 4-minute video tutorial.  The tutorial explains how your site works and what you can do with it.  It also shows you how to add events and news articles to your page.  

Second, please note we have put a Team Manager's Manual  to the right that you can download.  The manual backs up the video and gives a step-by-step demonstration on how to upload new events (practices, etc.), photos, video, and other items.  (When you review the manual, please note that the sections dealing with statistics and seasons do not apply because we have not enabled the statistics aspect of the website for the 2012 season.)

Third, although you are free to use your team page however you want, please do not delete the calendar or news boxes on your team page.  It is mandatory that every team page keep a news aggregator box and a calendar box so that JYBSA can communicate to all the teams at one time, if necessary. 

Fourth, please note that JYBSA will upload all team rosters to each team page once the teams have been set.  You do not need to worry about putting up your own rosters.

Fifth, if you have any other questions about how to use your team page, please check support.ngin.com.   This support site is excellent and should answer whatever questions you may have.  

Sixth, remember that you have the option of appointing an adult of your choosing to act as your team's "webmaster."  If you wish to appoint a team parent to serve as team webmaster, please send an email message to board member Duffy Dillon identifying the team webmaster and confirming that you have granted permisson to that parent to serve as team webmaster.
