Before the 2012 season started, JYBSA announced that the Janesville Police Department intended to enforce the City's "No Parking" areas at the Sports Complex this year.  The PD started by issuing warnings, and then they recently issued tickets to those who parked in no parking zones.

The increased early-season parking enforcement by the Janesville PD has caused some confusion about where the approved on-grass overflow parking areas are.

Working with the Police Department, JYBSA published a field map one week ago which showed some overflow parking areas.   JYBSA HAS NOW PUBLISHED AN UPDATED MAP TO SHOW WHERE WE HAVE ADDED ADDITIONAL ON-GRASS OVERFLOW PARKING.  In general, the approved areas are adjacent to the existing lots at the sports complex.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PARKING RULES AT THE SPORTS COMPLEX:

First, there is NO PARKING along any of the roads.  These areas are marked in orange on the field map.  Some areas along the road have been marked with orange stakes and flags.  People who park along the roadways face the risk of a ticket.

Second, WE HAVE ADDED TWO NEW OVERFLOW PARKING AREAS BY THE SOFTBALL FIELDS.  Those areas have been marked with white flags.  If you are attending a game at the softball side, please park in one of the dedicated lots or a dedicated overflow area.  If you park in an overflow area, please always keep your vehicle INSIDE THE FLAGS to protect pedestrians and landscaping.  Please also enter and exit the areas ONLY where indicated on the map.  Please be neighborly and do not park anyone in.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding with the parking situation.  It is important that people park only in the approved areas so that everyone at our park will be safe, especially our players and their young siblings.
