UPDATED SUNDAY, MAY 12 .

After five years of working on our project at the Sports Complex, JYBSA is proud to announce that our lighting work for the softball fields is complete, and we will be having our first ever night games on Monday, May 13, at 7 p.m.  We will have games being played on all four fields at the same time.   

This is truly a historic event for JYBSA. We invite all JYBSA players and families, and all Janesville residents, to join us for this special evening of enjoying baseball under the lights and giving thanks to all the people who have helped to make our dream a reality. For JYBSA players who attend, we encourage you to wear your league or tournament team uniform.  We also encourage everyone to bring a glove if you want.  We've done this for you, and after the game is over, we would be happy to let you all play catch on the under the lights if you'd like.  

As a final note, we want to extend a very special thank you to the members of the Phil McQuade Memorial Group. When Phil McQuade died many years ago as a young man, the Phil McQuade Memorial Group dedicated themselves toward the goal of making lighted baseball fields a reality for Janesville youth baseball players. It was their vision that sparked JYBSA to build our fields at the complex, and it is absolutely true that we would not be where we are today without all the help that the McQuade group has given to us over the years. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude for helping us build a facility that will be enjoyed for Janesville kids for generations to come. Wherever Phil is, we know he is smiling, and we hope we honor the incredible legacy he has left for the entire City of Janesville.
